2. Questions / answers about Windows CE

Q : Is the PC Card compatible with Windows CE ? (or WinCE v2.0, or v2.1 ...)
A : The PC Card is compatible with Windows CE but not with all palmtops computers (vary between the PC's hardwares).

Q : Where can I get a modem driver file for Windows CE ?
A : You don't need any driver file, just select the "Hayes compatible" mode.

Q : What settings to set in "bSquare Fax Pro" software?
A : Maximum Rate: 14400
Modem Initialization String: ATX0S0=1
Use HW Flow Control when Communicating with the Modem (Active)
Use Class 1 Fax Support (Active)

3. Motorola cellular phones

Because the Motorola phones switch off as soon the PC Card is switched off by the operating system (energy saving mode), we think this is not possible to use any of our PC Card + Motorola kit on palmtops.

It is not possible to us to test all these palmtops with Motorola phones. Your comments will be welcome.

4. Handhelds and Palmtops

3Com Palm Pilot III and V series

This palm top does not own a PC Card no Compact Flash slot. We don't provide any communication product for this palmtop.

5. General things to know

- The palmtop energy should come from the wall (not from battery).

- GSM: You must upgrade the firmware card under an OS supported by our upgrade tools (Win95/98/NT4, DOS, or Mac OS).

- GSM and PSTN use the same standard built-in driver (Hayes compatible).

- We do not have specific Paltomp drivers file for PSTN nor GSM, any standard Hayes compatible choice is the right one.

- ISDN driver is not planed for palmtops (remind MC218/MC220 are passive (= software) ISDN cards).

- MC220 LAN is not compatible with Windows CE nor Psion EPOC.

- The "Mobile Data PC Card" is a "GSM only" product.
